Paperback Publisher: Samhain Publishing J. L. Langley Sometimes love just catches you by the tail. Chayton Winston is a veterinarian. He is also a werewolf. Much to his Native American parent's chagrin, he has always dreamed of a fair-haired, Caucasian mate. However, he never imagined his mate would be male. As a heterosexual man, he's not quite sure what to do with a male mate, but more than willing to find out. Keaton Reynolds wakes up, in wolf form, and finds himself with a mate. He's instantly attracted, but not so thrilled to find out the man is straight. Having been in a relationship once before where his partner professed to be "Not gay" left a bad taste in his mouth. Keaton wants to make a break for it and pretend he never set eyes on Chay-but Chay is not ready to let him go. Together the two work to solidify their shaky relationship and battle the prejudices against homosexuals. Chay must deal with not only his mother's prejudices against gay men but also her hatred of white people. When a power struggle in Keaton's pack threatens Keaton's life, the two men learn to depend on one another and their relationship to get them through it. Warning, this title contains the following: explicit sex, graphic language, violence and hot man-love.

I couldn't put the book down, amazing is all i can say. True the plot was a little small, but maybe that's because i didn't want it to end. The character's had chemistry and often made me smile while i read there playful adventures with each-other. Simply magical.

Of the two books in this series, I must say I enjoyed Without Reservations more. The author made the two main characters in this novel equals, neither submissive to each other, but partners. While in the sequel, With Caution, Remi and Jake were not equals and fell into gay sterotypes (see my review of that book).
However, Chay and Keaton in this book mesh well together and the backstory of how werewolves find their mates was interesting. A good solid read if you like paranormal gay erotic novels.
The only thing I would have to complian about is the lack of proper editing in this book, as it sometimes takes away from the reader truly enjoying it. However, that can be attributed to Samhain Publishing not the author.

Wonderful novel. Exciting, and heartwarming. If they ever start making gay movies for the public again this one will top "Making Love", and "Torch Song Trilogy" Hint Hint producers!

Why I liked this book: Though the character development could have been better, in this book I'm kinda glad that the author didn't waste my time in giving me a lot of back-story on either character. You learn about their pasts through their courting. I like that the dominant wolf is actually the bottom in this book and though he oozes power (the other wolves feel it instantly but his lover doesn't) he not only controls it well, but manifests it only when necessary.
The smut was deliciously scattered throughout the book which made this a quick read without leaving out the key element that love shared between two people completely in love with each other is the most erotic of lovemaking scenes. One of my favorite scenes is the first time we see the pair give into their urges and includes the taller one pinning the smaller one against the door and devouring him from lips to well... other areas. By the time he swallows his lover down, both the lover and the reader are panting and squirming madly. Yum!
Langley, a female author, writes the scenes with realistic UST while adding paranormal references that keep you engaged and wanting more. While it has many romantic moments, there are very little cheesy moments and many of them are accompanied by such great dialogue that you enjoy the sneak peek into a living room scene or post-coital schmoopiness.
