Alan Sears, leader of the ADF has written an attack on the U.S Constitution in the guise of a work on the ACLU. Instead read In Defense of American Liberties by Samuel Walker for an even-handed account of the ACLU

First I'd like to thank the authors and publisher for bringing to light much of the agenda of the ACLU through this well-written and easy to read book. The book itself is laid out in 9 chapters and includes a few helpful appendixes for Churches, School Officials and a View on Thomas Jefferson's "separation of church and state" analogy.
I had first learned about the ACLU's connections to the American Communist Movement as well as to Eugenics and Planned Parenthood in Joshua Muravchik's book Heaven on Earth: The Rise and Fall of Socialism. In the first chapters of the ACLU vs America, the authors used extensive quotes from the founder of the ACLU, Roger Baldwin, as well as other groups which he had created to aide in his agenda to reshape America into a Socialist ideal, dismantling American liberties through the slow erosion and dismantling our very legal system from within.
Throughout this well-documented book, the authors refer to primary quotes from historical documents, letters and speeches of our Founding Fathers which indicates the Christian faith and heritage upon which our laws are based. Note, in saying this, I do not imply that the United States is a "Christian" Nation, but rather that those who set out to fashion our form of government indeed held to Christian beliefs and traditions in forming the basis for our laws. All laws are based upon someone's standards of morality. I would recommend America's Christian Heritage or America's Christian History
As a parent, I was particularly alarmed by the details in the chapters regarding parental rights and children and the issue of protecting the "rights" of pornographers at the expense of protecting children from harmful influences and exposure to pornographic materials.
As a home educator, I appreciated the following quote found on page 71:
"In a position paper, the ACLU of Texas unwittingly put forth the exact reason why concerned parents should have the right to school choice. It wrote: 'This generation of children will be the next generation of adult citizens who will make decisions on the directions this country will take. They will be molded by whatever education they receive'."
Further chapters address the issue of the ACLU and its attack on Religious expression, but not all religious expression, just that of Jews and Christians in the public square.
In the final chapter, the authors do offer practical steps as to how concerned Americans can stand up to the ACLU and their coercive tactics and take America back from the ACLU.

The ACLU needs to be understood for what it is! This is the American Communist Legal Union! Not the american civil libertys union This had nothing to do with protecting your rights. There agenda is to destroy the United States and the principals for which we stand. They will flip flop over any cause which will benefit only them! They are deeply involved with the Gay and Lesbian movement. There are out to destroy that which is good.

Any civic minded American will benefit from reading this book. Many things that have been happening over the last 60 years may have slipped under the radar, but Alan Sears brings it all out with clarity and context. We had better get busy defending our values and traditions or we will lose the America our Founding Fathers envisioned which has kept us the beacon of light to the world for over 200 years.
