  • Some things are so worth waiting for. Like the moment when Jessica Ward "accidentally" bumps into Bobby Ray Smith and shows him just how far she's come since high school. Back then, Jess' gangly limbs and bruised heart turned to jelly any time Smitty's "all the better to ravish you with" body came near her. So, some things haven't changed. Except now Jess is a success on her own terms. And she can enjoy a romp - or twenty - with a big, bad wolf and walk away. Easy. The sexy, polished CEO who hires Smitty's security firm might be a million miles from the lovable geek he knew, but her kiss, her touch, is every bit as hot as he imagined. Jess was never the kind to ask for help, and she doesn't want it now, not even with someone targeting her Pack. But Smitty's not going to turn tail and run. Not before proving that their sheet-scorching animal lust is only the start of something even wilder.

Enjoying this "new to me" Author
Customer Rating: 5 out of 5
I'm so glad I came across this author after she had the first four books in this series already out. I always enjoy finding a new author with a series where I can just dive in and read back to back books. I've loved all the stories and have stayed up way too late in the last week finishing them. I look forward to more laughs from Shelly Laurenston. The amazon discussion boards are the best for discovering new books and authors!

One of my favorites by Laurenston
Customer Rating: 5 out of 5
A wonderful read by Laurenston, this book was full of zany humor, crazy antics, romance, action and suspense. I couldn't put it down--read it almost in one sitting!

The story really pulled me in. Geeky, smart girl makes good when she grows up; her former crush from high school shows up and is smitten; and then she leads him on a merry chase. The wild dog pack and their antics are hilarious. And I loved the Smith pack from the earlier books, of which Smitty the lead male character is part of. We see them again in this book. I liked the lead characters and great supporting cast.

All of her Pride Stories are terrific, with my favorites being this book, The Mane Attraction and The Mane Squeeze. I liked her Magnus Pack books to a lesser extent--still good but not great like the Pride Stories. I really enjoyed her Dragonkin series (written under GA Aiken). Check those out if you haven't already. My favorite in that series was What a Draqon Should Know. It was hysterical! Loved the characters. Laurenston has now surpassed Lynsay Sands as my new favorite for funny paranormal romance.

If you are on the hunt for more great shapeshifter romance, check out my list of favorites....

Too much dialogue, not enough explanation or detail
Customer Rating: 1 out of 5
Extremely TOO MUCH dialogue and not enough explanation. Thought I was going crazy with all those "quotes". I'd rather the author tell me about what is going on rather than trying to figure out that with too many characters, too much dialogue and not enough explanation. After the 10th page I thought about tossing this. I prefer other books, such as Lora Leigh who actually has several paragraphs of explanation before brief and easy to understand dialog from one person at a time. I recommend the author buy and read one of Lora Leigh's books and see how an award-winning and popular writer writes.

    Good addition to the series...
Customer Rating: 4 out of 5
I enjoyed reading this book in the Pride series - it had good pacing and a better balance between plot and sex scenes. The humor wasn't as good as in the second story of the first book, but there were moments. There was also good tension between the main characters until they finally got their happily ever after. Overall, it was a good addition to the series. Looking foward to the next one.

    Another good read........

This was a fantastic story. The love and passion this book contained was wonderful. Please ignore the bad reviews, this is a wonderful paranormal romance.
