Dear Darby,

I am a good looking 30 year old and really feeling like there is no one out there for me. I am down to earth and really like laughing and making others feel good.

I have faults like everyone but I am finding out that everyone just wants to play games and I am not up for that.

I guess I have lost hope and decided to close my heart. Will I ever get over this feeling? I have been down before but never had I lost hope like know.

Dear Very Sad,

Everything we want in life we have to work for. No matter if it's for our careers, friendhships, or romance. Knowing ourselves is a challenge, not to mention new and on going relationships.

Your feelings and the revolving door of relationships and love isn't isolated. Everyone, and mean every one experiences meeting plastic people in elastic situations.

I personally enjoy watching people play out their roles, and then wonder what they are like when they are home alone. Sometimes I think they are lonely, empty, and probably oblivious to what and who they are in their mirror of life.

My question to you is, where are you meeting your acquaintances? Have you ventured out to different venues to meet a variety of people of different interests and backgrounds? Please don't tell me that you meet them only at clubs and chat rooms!

Well, don't lose hope. There are so many venues out there to meet fabulous people. Check out the Chicagopride.com list of events. There are so many wonderful and warm people who attend the activities and volunteer at charitable events. Get involved in the world areound you, and you'll soon see that your energy and involvement will attract others to you, or chances are you'll connnect with someone when you least expect it.

You're only 360 months young, and not ready to retire from life! It'll be summer, so much fun to be had. So, look in the mirror of life. Put on some shades with a smile, and one day you may see a happy reflection of two smiling back at you.

The only games you should be playing are your Olympics of life. By the way, are you going or geting involved with the Gay Olympics in 2006?
