“Don We Now…30!” Holiday Concert

Sunday, December 7, 2008
2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Windy City Gay Chorus and Aria: Windy City Women’s Ensemble ring in the holiday season and make it as merry as ever with their 2008 Holiday Concert: “Don We Now…30!” under the direction of Alan Wellman.

Celebrating three decades of Windy City Performing Arts Holiday Classics, “Don We Now…30!” kicks off a season of memorable music marking the 30th anniversary of Windy City Gay Chorus, and, along with the outstanding women of Aria, showcases our illustrious past and highlights our promising future.

So don your—dare we say—warm and cozy holiday apparel, and join us for a concert filled with seasonal favorites that range from Carol of the Bells and Deck the Halls (in 7/8 time no less!), to the most traditional of holiday classics such as the Franz Bieble Ave Maria and Benjamin Britten’s Ceremony of Carols. And lest we forget to pay homage to the sillier side of Christmas, stay tuned as Frosty and Rudolph (and all those televised ‘toons of yesterday) battle for your heartstrings in the tour de force a la West Side Story, A Christmas Fantasy! Along with Windy City Performing Arts’ emotionally stirring musical tradition Night of Silence/Silent Night, our gift to you is a memorable concert that will leave a song in your heart to carry you through the holidays!
Hoover-Leppen Theatre at Center on Halsted, 3656 N. Halsted St., Chicago.
Tickets are $20, general admission, available online at www.windycitysings.org or at the door one hour prior to performance
